Home Hospital StaffJoanne ScottJoanne Scott is a licensed veterinary technician. She has her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, a Masters of Science in Education and an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. She loves to read and garden. She grows plants that attract wildlife including birds, bees and butterflies. She is an avid animal rescuer and has Dr. Danoff beat! Like Dr. Danoff, she shares her home with a wide variety of species including dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles and amphibians. She has a special place in her heart for needy animals and cares for a three-legged dog plus other special needs animals, including a blind leopard gecko that requires hand feeding. She enjoys fostering Beagles, guinea pigs, and orphaned kittens. Joanne and her husband are both vegetarians and are active in local animal welfare organizations. For the past few years, Joanne has attended Poplar Spring (Poolsville, Maryland) events in support of farm animals that were previously neglected or abused. Joanne’s professional interests include massage therapy, working with exotic animals and rehabilitation. Kim AltKim Alt splits her time between the front desk and working with the patients in the back. She is our multi-tasking specialist. She is currently in college and is beginning a human radiation oncology technician program in the fall of 2008. Kim is a true cat lover! At home she has 3 cats named Camden, Rory, and Julia. When Kim is not working or studying, she is out seeking adventure. She spends time paragliding, rock climbing, hiking, and more. Darin SellersDarin Sellers' bio and photo will be coming soon... Katie LittleKatie Little is one of our veterinary assistants. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and is interested in veterinary forensics. She enjoys writing, clay sculpture, learning Chinese and jogging. She is currently learning how to ride her husband's motorcycle. She has a rescued cat named Aleman; a Chinchilla named Hideki; a red-eared slider named Turtle, and her newest addition, Tweak, a Budgie she rescued from a pet store. Tweak was born with a deformity of his right leg, causing it to stick out in front of his body. Jennie TaiJennie Tai is a veterinary assistant at VHRC. She is currently attending George Mason University and is majoring in Biology, with the intent of going to veterinary school in the future. She is active in the local animal welfare community and volunteers for HART and Noah's Ark Foundation. She also spends time volunteering for an organization that is trying to end puppy mills. During her free time, she enjoys hiking, playing sports (field hockey and lacrosse), and spending time outdoors and with her family and animals at home. Jennie’s animal family consists of two dogs, two rabbits, and a hedgehog. Jessica LundieJess Lundie is one of our veterinary assistants. Like Joanne Scott and Dr. Danoff, Jess is also a vegetarian. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Spanish from The University of Colorado in 2005. She enjoys hiking, riding horses, writing, video gaming, reading and dancing (salsa and ballroom). She has a rescued cat named Athena and two rescued greyhounds named Shoxy and Superman. Both dogs were adopted from Greyhound Rescue. Jess is a firm believer in feeding her pets a raw food diet and is a great source of information on this topic.
